Sir Bar of Salisbury (Born 458) was a vassal knight of Earl Roderick of Salisbury. He was slain by Sir Archade in a duel to the death in the winter of 489.

Personality

Sir Bar was notable for his sense of justice, which oftentimes would override all other concerns for him and lead him to conflict with fellow knights. He was considered a brutish thug by his subjects who were often the target of his foul tempers and punishments which, while entirely legal, were cruel by even the standards of the most arrogant knights.

Important Deeds of Note

Sir Bar encountered the Ursine Brotherhood for the first time in 486, when the young knights came upon him beating a group of peasants who had been negligent in their care of the knight's herds. Several sheep had wandered away, and Bar decided to have his men whip the serfs responsible in a brutal fashion. When the Ursine Brotherhood came upon him, several members took it upon themselves to plead mercy on behalf of his subjects, and eventually Sir Bar reluctantly agreed.

When they next met Sir Bar, it was at a large gala being held by Sir Archade in 489. After starting a fight with Sir Gerald ap Gergich, Sir Bar challenged Archade to a duel which ended in his death. Bar's cousin, Sir Lycus, was enraged at the outcome, and Sir Archade went temporarily insane as a result of his meticulously planned party becoming a disaster.
