Bishop Roger of Salisbury is a wealthy and worldy clergyman, in a religious sort of way. The holdings of the church have made him rich, including the holdings of Amesbury, and those around Sarum and Warminster, as well as other numerous sources of church income.

Personality

Roger is well-educated, intelligent, widely read, and extremely influential in the church. He is a seasoned traveler, and often makes excuses for trips to London on business. He manages to hold a rather tenuous balancing act when conflict between Earl Roderick and the church arises, and is known for practicality, pragmatism, and fair-mindedness. He is no great friend to the fanatics of the church, or the vehement critics thereof, but he is quite popular as it stands.

Important Deeds of Note

In 492, Bishop Roger defended the Ursine Brotherhood against treason after King Uther Pendragon's child was stolen away by Merlin, Archdruid of England. Roger provided the bulk of the legal arguments for their defense.
