He is well known for his skill at the harp, knowledge of courtly affairs{{Citation needed}}, and cheerful, friendly demeanor. He was squired in [[479]], knighted in [[485]], and wed in [[487]].

After being knighted in 485, Sir Ronan had some difficulty in the stewardship of his manor, though his peasants are known to say that, "At least the poor dear is trying..."
