Mael is a character that was played by [[User:BenjaminSage|BenjaminSage]] in [[User:Luke|Luke]]'s [[Hackmaster_2011|Hackmaster campaign]].

== Background ==Mael was born into the Noble House Berwynne, heir to the noble title. At the beginning of the campaign, his father was spymaster for the realm. Mael's family's fortunes however, were built from mines full of Dwarven slaves. As Elves and Dwarves are both long-lived, his father was personally vilified by the Dwarves - he was running the mines when the Dwarves rose up in rebellion a few hundred years before. == High Kingship ==Mael was submitted as a candidate for the High Kingship after the previous High King was assassinated. As part of a plan to out supporters of the Serpent King among the nobles, Mael was elected to the highest office of the land. The cultists who believed him to be a part of their prophecy were caught and imprisoned. Nearly immediately after Mael's ascension, the legendary Silver King revealed himself. Mael quickly passed the crown and responsibility for overseeing the war onto him, making Mael's time as High King the shortest on record. == Rumors ==Mael inherited a rather... unfortunate reputation for prostitutes from his father. This is because was compounded when Mael was stricken with a theoretically sexually-transmitted disease, known locally as "The Stormbringers' Pox."
