Sir Gerald is known far and wide for his clumsy, oafish behavior, as well as his rotten luck. Most knights avoid him out of annoyance and superstition that his luck may rub off on them. At every court, there is a Sir Gerald, and every knight must be vigilant lest he become like Sir Gerald himself.

Sir Gerald is the father in law of [[Typhon|Sir Typhon the Temperate]] who married his daughter [[Lady Millicent|Millicent]] in [[490]].

In [[489]], Sir Gerald caused a major argument to break out at the party of [[Archade|Sir Archade of Laverstock]], leading to the host to fight a duel and slay [[Sir Bar]]. This lead to Sir Archade going mad from grief and temporarily becoming a hermit. Sir Gerald felt very bad for having caused such a fuss and was treated for an ulcer later that month from worrying about his friend.
