* [[Runa]], [[Eithne]], and [[Alaric]] were knighted by Earl [[Roderick]], having reached the age of 21. Dame [[Elad]] vouched for their good service, having sent them on a mission to hunt a man-eating bear a few months prior near the village of Imber.
* The three squires had accomplished the task by killing the bear, and properly identified that the beast was fae in origin, actually a sort of selkie that had been trapped in the bear form. The trio took the head and paws of the creature as trophies and proof of their story, allowing the peasants to keep the hide in a most generous action.
