In the winter of [[490]], Sir Blains sent raiding parties into Salisbury and kidnapped several people, including the cousin of Dame [[Runa]]. In addition, he spread vile rumors about Sir [[Alaric]], in an attempt to weaken the position of the Knights of the Sword, seeing them as the primary defenders of Salisbury.
In [[492]], Sir Blains was captured by the Knights of the Sword as he led a raiding party into the lands of Sir Oswulf.
