Duke Ulfius was part of the envoy to [[Lindsey]] in [[487]], along with Earl [[Roderick]] (for whom he has an intense, and mutual, dislike), King [[Uther]], and the Knights of the Sword. Ulfius stood by Uther, ready to sack [[Lincoln]], when Duke [[Corneus]] was not at home upon their arrival. Fortunately, Earl Roderick managed to convince Uther to delay taking the city until the Knights of the Sword were able to locate Corneus and bring him home safely. Ulfius considered this another in a long line of insults from the lower-ranking Roderick, as he had counseled Uther to attack anyway.
Ulfius led troops in the Battle of Lincoln, taking command of the right flank of Uther's army.
