In late 484, Dame Elad sent [[Runa]], [[Eithne]], and [[Alaric]] on a quest to the village of Imber, there to hunt and kill a man-eating bear. The bear was revealed to be a fae creature, exiled from the [[Seelie Court]] and trapped in the ursine form.
In [[485]], Dame Elad vouched for the three squires and recommended them to be knighted by Earl [[Roderick]].
