'''Old Garr of Imber''' is a British Christian priest who lives (in sin, with his mistress of many years) in the village of Imber. A kind, elderly man, Garr is almost entirely illiterate, having memorized some important passages which he uses in sermons. He is a hunter by hobby, and while he makes no great claim to his skill he does have a couple of interesting trophies around his home from his various excursions into the forest. In his advanced years, he mostly just tracks animals now and leaves the rest of it to the younger people in the village.
