Sir Lycus became an enemy to the [[Characters_(Pendragon)#The_Ursine_Brotherhood|the Ursine Brotherhood]] after [[Archade|Sir Archade]] successfully slew [[Sir Bar]], Lycus's cousin and close friend in an honorable duel. Lycus has held a grudge since that night and has been plotting revenge against his fellow knights ever since.
In [[495]], Lycus tried to overthrow the rule of Countess Ellen by insisting that he would not follow the orders of a woman. While some knights supported his stance, the Ursine Order and others, including [[Sir Leo]], voiced their support for the wife of the late Earl Roderick. Lycus eventually backed down, recognizing that he was beaten.
