Kitsune are a planetouched race of humanoids. They have in their lineage some fey planar creature associated with foxes, and have taken on several fox-like traits.

The Upside

Racial Bonuses

  • Low-light vision.
  • 90% resistance to Sleep and all charm-related spells.
  • Fox Fire: Kitsune can produce the effects of Dancing Lights as a standard action, as the spell (caster level 1st), but only the glowing orb form.

Talents

  • +1 bonus on to-hit rolls when using a bow of any sort (except crossbow) or when using a short or long sword
  • Move Silently. Opponents suffer a -4 penalty to their surprise die rolls. If the Kitsune must open a door or screen to attack, this penalty is reduced to -2.
  • Scent-based tracking: If the Kitsune is not a ranger, they can still track without the -30% penalty. If they are a ranger, they track at a 15% bonus.
  • Move through undergrowth as if in open terrain.

Allowable Classes

Bard (limit: level 12), druid, fighter, ranger, magic-user, thief. (other level restrictions as High Elf, subject to change)

Allowable Multi-classes

Ranger/bard, ranger/thief, magic-user/thief.

Attribute Modifiers

Kitsune gain/suffer the following bonuses/penalties: +2 Dexterity, -2 Constitution.

  • Building Point Bonus: 12.
  • Additional Talents: As High Elf.
  • Roll on age and all age-related tables as Half-Elf.
  • Anything else unmentioned is as High Elf.

The Downside

Restrictions on classes as High Elf.
