Ygraine was thirty years the junior of her first husband, Gorlois of Cornwall, and they had three children together. [[Lady Morgawse]], [[Lady Elaine of Tintagel]], and [[Lady Morgan]]. A few scant months after the death of her husband, Ygraine and Uther married. The gossip around the court was that Ygraine was wise to agree to the match as it secured her future and offered her protection - rather than being vulnerable as the widow of a traitor she was now strong and powerful as the Queen of all Logres.
In [[492]], Ygraine gave birth to a son, but the child was almost immediately stolen by [[Merlin, Archdruid of England|Merlin]]. She has been in mourning ever since, and seems enraged at the sound of Merlin's name. Many courtiers worry for her health of body and mind.
In [[495]], upon the death of her husband, Uther, Ygraine took her daughter Morgan to live at Amesbury Abbey.
